Before & After Care
Before wax:
– If you are worried about the pain, take a pain reliever about 30 mins before
-Please come showered and loose comfortable clothing
– Exfoliate the area 2-3 days before waxing
– Make sure you have 2-3 weeks of hair growth before appointment
-No tanning (outside, bed, or spray) for 24 hours
Immediately after wax:
It is normal immediately after your wax for a little bit of redness and a prickly heat type rash to appear. This should disappear after a few hours and is normally due to a histamine reaction. Because waxing removes the at the root, it’s important that you keep the area clean and bacteria free. This means:
-No sunbathing for at least 24 hours
-No swimming, spas or saunas for 24 hours
-Avoid applying any topical for at least 12 hours
-Also, avoid touching the waxed area to ensure it remains bacteria free
-No tanning (outside, bed, or spray) for 24 hours
3-5 days after waxing:
As your skin closes over the follicles, the next consideration is to ensure you prevent ingrown hairs. This is when new, often softer hair can get trapped under the skin. A few simple measures can easily avoid this situation.
-Use a soft brush or exfoliating glove to gently buff the are every 2-3 days
-Use an exfoliating product, I have two to choose from
